Donny Lu
Physics @ Caltech, Building D-Lab
Hi, I'm Donny. I grew up in Shenzhen and have been tinkering my entire life.
Currently, I am a member of South Park Commons in San Francisco, exploring how to build up "Shenzhen" in America. I am working on reinventing the way injection molds are made using 3D-printed ceramics and fluid simulation, compressing prototype-to-production timelines from weeks to hours.
At Caltech, I lead the Caltech Robotics Team, where we are building a humanoid, a fully autonomous couch, EVTOL, Battlebots, and other embodied robotics projects.
Previously, I worked as a policy intern in the office of Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, worked on using LLMs to automate fundamental research, and built theoretical foundations of photonic quantum computers.
